Jon is our amazing photographer who is able to spot superb picture opportunities when both drunk and sober. He is also a comedy genius. A sense of humour is paramount when 10 people are trapped together on a double-decker bus for months at a time. The photo diary of the 2005 and 2006 USA tours are fabulous and we hope that one day you will be able to see them in all their glory when published. Jonny C is great.
Our utterly fantastic driver Janice and co-driver/mechanic John are an important part of the road team and never beaten. Tyre blowouts in the Nevada Desert, lost exhausts in the Wyoming prairies, overheating in Death Valley – whatever comes their way they keep their cool because they are from California and spend a lot of time in the sun. Even being trapped on a double-decker bus full of Brits for a month doesn’t fluster them. They are awesome.
Rich has the responsibility of keeping track of all the merch while on the road. A daunting task, but one which he handles with pride and skill mainly due to his love of spreadsheets. He is also assisted by Miss Bird.
Miss Bird plays one of the most important roles in this tour – that of tour masseur massaging away the pain of 12 hour drive days in a rattling shaking double-decker bus. She is also Queen of comedy and ‘occasional moments of weirdness’. Miss Bird you rock. The tours wouldn’t be the same without you.
Last but not least our special 25 year old British double-decker tour bus who we affectionately named ‘The Duchess’ after entertaining The Duke Spirit on board after a gig in San Francisco. Fully kitted out with a massive audio system courtesy of Kicker Car Stereo she rocks. God bless her and all who ride in her.
